Use
Carboxymaltose iron is a new type of intravenous iron agent. It is a complex (codenamed "VIT-45") formed by the encircle of the trivalent polynuclear iron core (β-FeOOH) by carboxyl maltodextrin (i.e. the oxidation product of maltodextrin). This core-shell structure can stabilize the iron complex and control the release of iron. Therefore, it can prevent the toxic oxides produced by the saturation of ferric transporters and ferric Chemicalbook proteins due to high blood iron concentration. Carboxymaltose iron contains high iron content (24-32%, the iron content in its injection is 47.5-52.5mg/mL, and 500-1500mg iron can be quickly injected within 15min), with fewer times of administration and good iron supplementation effect, which greatly improves patients' compliance.
