Product description

Dalbavancin HCl (MDL-63397; BI-397; AA 1; VER-001; Dalvance; Xydalba (Xydalba) is a semi-synthetic lipopeptide, which is a novel and effective second-generation lipopeptide antibiotic with activity against Gram-positive pathogens. It is in the same category as vancomycin, the most widely used drug and one of the few treatments available to patients infected with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Dabavacin is based on vancomycin and Teicoplanin. It has in vitro activity against a variety of Gram-positive pathogens, including MRSA and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE).

In Vitro research

Dabavancin is a semi-synthetic lipopeptide that is injected parenterally to combat infections caused by drug-resistant gram-positive pathogens. Dapavancin has strong in vitro bactericidal activity against Gram-positive pathogens, including non-VANA strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), VISA and VRE. Dabavacin was developed for the treatment of complex skin and skin structure infections (csssi), primarily caused by MRSA and beta-hemolytic streptococcus, where it has shown greater efficacy compared to existing glycopeptide therapeutics.

In Vivo research

Dabavancin (15-240 mg/kg; Intraperitoneal injection; Every 36 hours or 72 hours; 14 consecutive days; Female BALB/c mice) were treated with an 80% to 100% survival rate in mice across all dose regimens [1]. Animal model: female BALB/c mice (6-8 weeks) attacked with the Ames strain of Bacillus anthracis [1] Dose: 15mg/kg, 30mg/kg, 60mg/kg, 120mg/kg, 240mg/kg, intraperitoneally injected every 36h or 72h for 14 days, the efficacy is 80-100%, as indicated by the 42-day survival rate, and 15 to 120 every 36 hours when treatment is initiated 24 hours after provocation A treatment regimen of mg/kg or 30 to 240 mg/kg every 72 hours.

Bioactivity

Dalbavancin (Zeven, BI 397, MDL 63397) is a lipoglycopeptide antibiotic with bactericidal activity against Gram-positive bacteria, such as various staphylococci.
